THE HELENDALE
NUDE FOOTY CALENDAR
A PLAY BY JAKE STEWART
DIRECTED BY JAKE STEWART
SYNOPSIS
The Helendale Hornets Footy Club is in financial trouble and it looks like it’s just gonna go under, unless someone comes up with one heck of an idea.
Angus may just have one heck of an idea…
The footy guys are all kinda accidentally handsome.
And their illogical athletic pastime has rendered them well-built and quite evenly tanned.
And handsome well-built men sure do look good naked.
And people, yeah, also need to know what day of the week it is.
For the good of the town, the happiness of their mates, and their love of the sport, the footy shorts are coming off.
A play that tells three parallel stories of being a gay guy in an Australian country town.
It’s about mateship, about men, about sit-ups, about locker rooms, about love, about loathing, and about that town you drove through that time when you met a friendly guy with a dog or something and thought ‘Hey, maybe I’d like living here’, but you were like, never gonna actually consider ever doing that.
